    Hello MDA fans,

Rotten_Mango stopping in to say hello. I never really got into paper crafting (i may give it a go) but i have been gaming and making home brew games since 4th grade (im 29 now) when i got my first battletech card game starter deck. I stumbled upon MDA recently while searching for some ATZ-FFO content and thought i would give the rules a read. seems like a fun system and i plan on giving it a play test soon here when i get some time.

I saw you guys are looking to work on a v0.5 and thought maybe you guys were looking for more help? I would love to help set up a complete rule system while keeping it short and simple so anyone can pick it up quickly. I have a lot of thoughts and ideas already that i hope you guys will like. I will make another thread in the main forum about my thoughts and ideas, probably later today.

Also, i was wondering if anyone here knows about Roll20 and would be interested in getting a play group together for MDA on there and maybe for playtesting as well? let me know what you guys think. look forward to talking to you guys more Smile

    Welcome to our community.

All ideas are more then welcome, all suggestions and ideas for 0.5 would be great, so if you would like to help out with that, please post your suggestions.

As for d20, i much prefer to play the games in a physical environment, as half the fun is in the minis and making them.

But for test playing, using a simulator is a good idea Smile

Hello and thanks for the warm welcome.

I totally agree that gameing is better in a physical environment, But im working my way twords 30 and over the years i have lost most of my gaming friends to moving for jobs, familys or other reasons so iv learned to make due with the tools i have. Gaming with friends over the internet is still very enjoyable. Smile If its not your thing no worries though.

anyways since im already writing here my first question when reading the rules was "Who goes first"? it says heroes perform actions untill they have no remaining speed then the DM performs actions with the monsters. It is a kind of a D&D RPG style game so where is the inititive role.

    something like:

when you enter a room everyone rolls initive
everyone (including DM) roll 1D6 +SP = inititave for room
then everyone knows when its there turn and feels more like real time where ppl are moving on both sides
plus that allows things like surpise attacks or w/e if you wanted to add more complexity, maybe an expansion.
not sure how big and serious you guys wannn go yet

ill post more soon. also how many ppl are activly engages in the project?

thanks again, talk to you soon

I am not very familiar with a lot of role playing games, Zappline makes a some home brew RPGS

I kinda wanna keep the core rule book (ver 0.5) close-ish to the original game, but go crazy with all the add-ons, we have 6 registered on here, we only started a week ago, so we are still getting our footing Smile

Hi Mango. And welcome to the forum.

As for now we are 3 more or less active developers mostly it's me and Taylor for now. We are however trying to expand.

As for the initiative I like a roll based init cause I am used to it. But as the game is writtien all heroes goespecially first and then the GM I think this is a balance issue but I ain't sure. Me and my friends when we played it way back rolled for ini cause we made a house rule. Both works without any problem.

As Taylor said I have made a couple of RPGs and is of right now translating and rebuilding the system for one of them if you would like to play test it on roll20 let me know.

I looked into tabletop simulators, this one would probably be terribly for MDA.

But i just though you guys might be intrested.

    +1 for that avatar mango.

Hahaha thank you,  and i fully agree Dawngate was the best moba ever made. It was so sad to see it go. I was very into it too. I had a team that practiced and scrimmed three nights a week and had just signed up for the beta tournament they were gonna throw. I wont support EA every again. I miss Renzo very much, but i still play Dota 2 and HoTS regularly.

If you guys play let me know and ill add you on steam and or bnet.

That simulator looks kinda interesting but yea i dont think it would work all that well for this type of thing. Roll20 is more for what we are doing and you can use a lil bit of Lua code to make it work just like MDA does on a tabletop. Its really a pretty cool program.

Anyways thanks again for the warm welcomes!

Played it a lot after I started to hate lol and it's community.

I mainly played Faris with Mina on my back and boom everyone was dead. I normala took out 4 enemies myself with mina on my back. People really hated us. Even some of the Dev's we had the fortune to play against from time to time Smile

Have stopped playing Mobas more or less since dawngate and infinite crisis both died. I play Smite and there is a new moba on steam that seems to have potential. Just hope the community is good.

Will not play HoTS cause the community is the worst in the world and will not play dota2 cause it's the slowest moba on the market and the 2nd worst community Wink

I somewhat like the idea of the initiative role. I don’t like the idea that it is your play until all your speed points are gone. I suggest that after your first action it is then the next player or DM’s turn then next player… The round continues reacting to each others actions until everybody’s speed points are gone. I believe it will create a more real-time flow to the game.

Also I found this that somebody started to setup for online play:

Hmm, hmm, 1 action each seems a little slow, maybe if 1 action counted as moving?
As in, attacking for 1S is 1 action, but moving 3 squares for 3S is 1 action?

Im not to sure, im just throwing ideas around.
